DAVID LLOYD APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF BOOM CYCLE

Nectar Portfolio company Boom Cycle is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. David Lloyd as non-executive Chairman to aid in it strategic development and growth.

As the first indoor cycling business to launch in London in 2011, Boom Cycle has now established itself as the market leader. Backed by Pembroke VCT, Nectar Capital, Andurand Capital, and Prism Finance, Boom operates five locations located in Holborn, Hammersmith, Monument and London’s iconic Battersea Power Station redevelopment, Boom Cycle will launch their next site early 2019. Expansion outside the capital is planned for the coming years. Mr. Lloyd joins as Chairman to help guide the company’s rapid expansion .

About David Lloyd

Starting his career as a professional tennis player in the 1970’s, Mr. Lloyd later launched the acclaimed David Lloyd Leisure in 1982, a pioneering concept in health and fitness: family orientated clubs with emphasis on tennis. The business floated on the London Stock Exchange and was subsequently acquired by Whitbread Plc. Lloyd remained as managing director in the division until 1996. Lloyd, together with his son Scott, went on to create Next Generation fitness clubs and in 2007 acquired David Lloyd Leisure from Whitbread, in 2013 the group was taken over by TDR Capital. Alongside his various business ventures, for a short time Lloyd served as Chairman to Hull City A.F.C and Hull F.C, further underpinning his credentials within the health and fitness sector. Lloyd will join Boom Cycle with a wealth of experience and profound knowledge to aid strategic development and the brands next stage of growth in the UK and nationwide.
