MEDIA, LEISURE AND CREATIVE SECTOR FOCUS
Our industry focus, media, leisure and creative industries, represents an area where underlying secular growth is occurring throughout the western world as economies mature and develop.Nectar Capital defines media as the traditional media sectors of publishing, broadcasting, music, content and rights ownership, production, and surrounding digital businesses that either support or deliver content. We do not invest in "one-off" content plays like a film, a show, or an album, but do consider investments in production companies or labels.
Leisure investments targeted include restaurant groups, boutique hotels, fashion, sports, and certain types of specialty retail that have an entertainment element.
Nectar's principals bring over 50 years of expertise in operations and finance in developing as well as mature companies in these particular fields. Between them they have invested over £25 million in companies in a variety of stages of development, and concluded equity transactions amounting to more than £6.5 billion in these sectors in the last 10 years, ranging in transaction size from equity and debt financings of a few hundred thousand pounds to an M&A transaction in excess of £3.5 billion.
